On the sidelines of the second HSBC SVNS stop of the season in Cape Town, the draw for the third round in Singapore, has thrown up some exciting encounters — and the prospect of more than one upset.
As South Africa celebrated back-to-back Blitzbok titles in Cape Town, the draw for the next round of the HSBC SVNS, in Singapore on 31 January and 1 February 2026, took place on the party’s sidelines.

Newly crowned men’s champions South Africa will face Fiji, a rapidly improving Great Britain and unlucky Spain – who missed out on the semi-finals in South Africa on points difference — in Pool A when the tournament gets under way at the National Stadium in the new year.
Losing finalists Argentina, meanwhile, head a tough-looking Pool B that includes France, New Zealand and Australia.
In the women’s competition, Cape Town champions Australia have been pitted against USA, Japan and Fiji in a difficult Pool A when the HSBC SVNS resumes at the end of January, while arch-rivals New Zealand will face France, Canada and Great Britain in Pool B.
