HSBC SVNS: Singapore draw unveils more mouth-watering clashes

Draw for the third round of the HSBC SVNS Series in Singapore hints at future upsets in store

On the sidelines of the second HSBC SVNS stop of the season in Cape Town, the draw for the third round in Singapore, has thrown up some exciting encounters — and the prospect of more than one upset.

As South Africa celebrated back-to-back Blitzbok titles in Cape Town, the draw for the next round of the HSBC SVNS, in Singapore on 31 January and 1 February 2026, took place on the party’s sidelines.

Newly crowned men’s champions South Africa will face Fiji, a rapidly improving Great Britain and unlucky Spain – who missed out on the semi-finals in South Africa on points difference — in Pool A when the tournament gets under way at the National Stadium in the new year.

Losing finalists Argentina, meanwhile, head a tough-looking Pool B that includes France, New Zealand and Australia.

In the women’s competition, Cape Town champions Australia have been pitted against USA, Japan and Fiji in a difficult Pool A when the HSBC SVNS resumes at the end of January, while arch-rivals New Zealand will face France, Canada and Great Britain in Pool B.
