It is with great pride that HSBC once again stands alongside World Rugby to take this dynamic global sport into a new growth market. From Vancouver to Hong Kong to Singapore, over the course of HSBC’s long-term partnership, rugby sevens has connected new communities around the globe with brilliant events and unmissable stories. The move into Madrid, and the iconic Cívitas Metropolitano stadium, is the next exciting phase in that journey.

The HSBC Madrid SVNS represents the conclusion of the first series of the HSBC SVNS. This exciting new sport and entertainment property, spanning eight cities and six continents, has been a roaring success in its first season. We’ve seen new stars emerge, new fans embrace the festival atmosphere and perhaps most excitingly, we’ve seen the women’s series take another huge leap forward, with equal event schedules and prize money.

As the series reaches its conclusion, the competition is intense. We’ll see the newly introduced high stakes promotion and relegation play-off competition for the first time. Teams from the HSBC Challenger Series, a brilliant competition that has seen a selection of up-and-coming rugby nations compete for a place at the top of the sport, will have a once-in-a-lifetime chance to join the main series. And as the top eight men’s and women’s teams from the regular season compete for the HSBC SVNS Series 2024 crown, the weekend ahead undoubtedly promises excitement and unpredictable twists and turns.
